Jason's grandfather passed away last week. He was an strong, respected man who lived a very full life and was most notably dedicated to his family: his 12 children and grandchildren and great grandchildren!!! We didn't want to miss the service on Friday, so we hit the road Thursday night...

When we arrived in Portland (after a long, traffic-filled trip!) we said hi to Grandma Margaret and Papa Jerry and then walked down to the most beautifully decorated house! Here is Ava and Grandma Moogie walking up to the house...
Here is a pic of the four of us... Luke all bundled up in his PINK STROLLER, of course :-)

It was such a bittersweet trip. Sad that we went to attend a service and funeral but it was such an incredible chance to hang with the fam. We had the best time drinking wine and telling stories Thursday night. The kids were gems... and stayed up way too late!

Ava got to snuggle with all her favorite people: here she is with Grandma Margaret!

She got to snuggle with Papa Jerry and BANDIT!
And with Great Auntie Wahn...
We are so glad we got to go listen to people tell stories about this remarkable man who passed and reconnect with the family. It was a quick trip, but one we are so glad we made!!!
