We had the most incredible weekend getaway with our great friends, the Taylor's! Jason's aunt and uncle blessed us by opening up their cabin by Mt Hood for us to enjoy... and did we ever enjoy! This is the same cabin that Jason's grandfather once owned (although has been beautifully updated by Uncle Dan) - so Jason has many amazing memories visiting this special place as a kid himself. He couldn't wait to share it with us all!
It was one of the most relaxing and truly fun weekends we've had in recent years. No agenda, just true hang out time with our families.
The young, happy campers...
Vicki & Me
My friend Heather coined the term "glam-ping"... (glamorous camping) and that is how this felt! My kind of camping... beautiful cabin to cook in, sleep in, real wine glasses... but still in the woods: smores, bonfires and all!

Our two-family walk to the coffee shack Saturday am.
The fam!
Luke lounging and enjoying his coffee (gatorade)!
Luke got a little tired so daddy had to carry him home...
Saturday we packed lunch and headed just 15 minutes up the mountain to the Timberline lodge area for a picnic. It was breathtakingly beautiful... the views were unbelievable. The kids loved it because there were tiny patches of snow everywhere! They couldn't believe they were playing with snow in July!
I think Max liked it the most of all! A true highlight of his weekend.
Sliding down the patch...
They even tried to make snowballs!
Mt Hood behind us... the chair lifts were running and people were actually skiing & snowboarding!
The kids LOVED Uncle Dan's 4-wheeler! Another highlight of the weekend--- the dad's took them each on multiple rides.
My brother gave us fresh crab-to-go when we visited him last Thursday so we had crab as a pre-dinner appetizer Saturday night! Luke LOVED it!!!
Here's the man himself: Uncle Dan! Such a remarkable man... nice to have time with him too!
Saturday night the kids roasted hot dogs on the fire! They loved cooking their own dinner.
Uncle Dan teaching Luke proper technique :)
This kid LOVED the beach last week... and maybe even LOVED the mountains more??? He's a true outdoor guy!
Rocco has become quite the traveler! He's been to the desert (AZ), the beach (Whidbey) and now the mountains! :)
The guys had their cigars each night...
S'mores each night!
Luke LOVED peeing outside... wait, ALL the guys loved peeing outside!!!
My little love!
Sunday morning Uncle Dan made his dad's famous "buttermilks"... and was so sweet to let the kids each participate! He has 4 kids of his own and is a real kid-magnet. Such a caring man!
Oh, the anticipation!!!
DELICIOUS! They were a hit!
The Gardiner Five: about the hit to highway and head home after tons of fun!
The entire crew--- hoping we can make this a tradition! Loved every minute!!!
